Thank you all again for your support and vote last fall. I was recently sworn in January 6, 2009. Dave, the kids, and my parents were there. It was a wonderful and very humbling day, knowing the tasks that lie ahead and that so many of you are counting on me to represent you. I have enjoyed every minute! (Well maybe not the times when we win the argument but lose the vote.) In true sincerity, it is an honor to serve you and I can't think of anything I would rather be doing.
For 2009, I have been assigned to the following committees: Housing and Public Health Policy, Transportation Finance, Civil Justice, Property and Sales Tax, and Capitol Investment (Bonding)
This is no doubt a challenging time in our country and state. Many of you are hurting. Cutting the budget is not an enviable job, but it must be done. Our state cannot continue to spend at its current rate, or we will bankrupt the state for ourselves and our children. It really boils down to priorities and living within the budget.
Hearing from you by e-mail, letter, phone, or in person, is the highlight of my position. I hope all of you will contact me regarding any issue of importance to you and if you are planning a trip to the Capitol, please call my office ahead of time and I will do my best to meet with you. You can now contact me and sign up for my e-newsletter at rep.peggy.scott@house.mn.
Thank you again for allowing me to serve you. Keep in touch. You are the 4th branch of government!
Sincerely,
Peggy Scott Home: (763) 434-6282 |
